Our dermatologically tested laundry fragrances: hypoallergenic and allergen-free
Because your laundry is in contact with your skin all day long, we make no compromises on safety. Three of our laundry fragrances have been submitted to independent clinical trials under dermatological supervision.
At Bajoah, creating a beautiful fragrance is not enough. We want to be certain it is safe for all skin types — including the most sensitive. That is why Écrin Blanc, Rose Musquée and Fleur des Îles have been put through the HRIPT protocol — one of the most rigorous dermatological tests in existence.
What is the HRIPT test?
The HRIPT (Human Repeated Insult Patch Test) is the reference protocol for evaluating the skin tolerance of a cosmetic product, recognised by European authorities. It runs over 6 weeks, under controlled conditions, on human volunteers — no animal testing.

The tests were conducted on 56 volunteers — of whom 50% had sensitive skin — aged 18 to 64, under the supervision of Dr Inmaculada Domínguez Fernández, independent dermatologist.
Allergen-free: what does it actually mean?
A hypoallergenic fragrance is formulated to minimise the risk of allergic reaction. Our three fragrances go even further: they are designed without the allergens commonly identified as responsible for skin sensitisation.
Reactions are assessed using the international ICDRG scale (International Contact Dermatitis Research Group), which measures erythema, oedema and vesicles. For all three of our fragrances, the verdict is clear:
✓ No allergic reaction detected — neither during the induction phase nor during the challenge phase.
✓ Mean Irritation Index (MII) = 0.00 — the optimal score, on a scale where any result above 0.08 already indicates mild irritation.
This means that even when subjected to conditions far more intense than a standard wash cycle, our fragrances caused no irritation, no sensitisation and no contact allergy whatsoever.
